Hotel Aida E-Bike Rules and Operating Instructions
Here are the main operating instructions for your full-suspension e-bike (the model is a GBS / MBM Thor equipped with an OLI eBike Systems mid-drive motor / OLI Edge or Sport):
1. System Power On / Off
-
Turning On: Press and hold the power button (symbol $\mathbf{\dot{\boldsymbol{\omega}}}$ / POWER) located on the handlebar remote (usually on the left side) for about 2 seconds until the display lights up.
-
Turning Off: Press and hold the POWER button again for a couple of seconds. Alternatively, the system turns off automatically after a few minutes of inactivity.
2. Selecting Motor Assistance Levels
The OLI motor offers several pedal assistance levels (generally from 1 to 5, plus Eco or Sport modes).
-
Increase Assistance: Press the
+button on the remote to shift to a higher level (e.g., from TOUR/ECO to SPORT/TURBO). -
Decrease Assistance: Press the
-button to lower the motor assistance. -
Level 0: No assistance from the motor; the bike behaves like a standard mountain bike.
3. Walk Assist Function
Useful when you need to push the bike uphill on foot:
-
Press and hold the
-button (or the dedicated Walk button) while standing beside the bike. -
The motor will propel the e-bike at a maximum speed of about 6 km/h (3.7 mph) for as long as you hold the button down.
-
Releasing the button stops the assistance immediately.
4. Battery Management and Charging
-
Battery Removal: The integrated battery in the downtube can be charged either directly on the bike or removed using the key lock located on the frame.
-
Charging Procedure:
-
Always turn off the display before charging.
-
Plug the charger into the wall outlet (220V) first, and then connect it to the bike/battery charging port.
-
The charger’s LED indicator usually turns from red (charging) to green (fully charged).
-
-
Storage Tip: If the bike is not used for an extended period, keep the battery charge between 40% and 80% in a cool, dry place.
5. Using the Mechanical Gears
-
Use the shifter on the right handlebar grip to change the mechanical gears.
-
Golden Rule: Shift gears while pedaling lightly, avoiding gear changes under heavy load (especially uphill) to prevent damage to the chain and cassette caused by the motor’s high torque.
6. Suspension (Fork and Rear Shock)
-
Fork and Rear Shock: Equipped with preload adjustment (air/spring) and a Lockout lever.
-
Uphill or on Asphalt: You can lock or stiffen the suspension to prevent energy loss during pedaling.
-
Downhill or Off-road: Unlock the suspension to safely absorb bumps and obstacles.
7. Basic Maintenance and Precautions
-
Cleaning: Never wash the e-bike with high-pressure washers aimed directly at the motor, display, battery, or electrical connectors. Use a damp cloth and mild detergents.
-
Brakes: Hydraulic disc brakes require a short break-in period. Periodically check the brake pads for wear.
-
Tire Pressure: Check tire pressure before every ride (usually indicated on the sidewall of the tire, in bar or PSI).
